BOXER step by step with BEN JELTER!

OK, so since boxers are the cool thing now, and so are step-by-steps, and since someone was interested in my process (i think?) and because I thought it would be fun, heres this post on how I did this illustration.

first, i make sure my idea isn't something cute or normal
then i do thumbnails and at least one color rough

then i draw it badly

then i try to cover it all up with a mess of paint

then i use some ink to try to make it so you can see what it is

this takes a lot out of me and by now i'm very hungry (i have a fast metabolism).... so i have lunch. it is important to eat 3 healthy meals a day.

so i go back to war battling the illustration and trying to get it to stop acting up

...but my room is so messy that i can't concentrate! i cant let another illustration beat me!

...so i clean my room.

...and so that's how it is done. i hope that was helpful to all of the young art students who will one day be amazing artists.

and as thanks for looking at the whole process, heres something else you didnt want to see:

  1. wow. Such a simple process. When did boxers become popular? And what happens when the heads get too close.. they might kiss. There's no kissing in boxing! Maybe there should be. I suppose it might come afterwards. But anyways, you're so funny and i'm glad we're BFF.

Very nice step-by-setp, it completely sounds like my work process and makes me feel not so alone in the world of those who must eat sandwiches to keep working. Or clean their room. Usually I manage about 3 or 4 more ways of distracting myself though, like browsing the intertubes.

  13. Could you go over the part where you cleaned your room again? I'm having trouble getting the same result. Also, I don't have any boxer briefs. Is it possible to do this without them? Or should I purchase some?
