first, i make sure my idea isn't something cute or normal
then i do thumbnails and at least one color rough
then i draw it badly
then i try to cover it all up with a mess of paint
then i use some ink to try to make it so you can see what it is
this takes a lot out of me and by now i'm very hungry (i have a fast metabolism).... so i have lunch. it is important to eat 3 healthy meals a day.
so i go back to war battling the illustration and trying to get it to stop acting up
...but my room is so messy that i can't concentrate! i cant let another illustration beat me!
...so i clean my room.
...and so that's how it is done. i hope that was helpful to all of the young art students who will one day be amazing artists.
and as thanks for looking at the whole process, heres something else you didnt want to see:
wow. Such a simple process. When did boxers become popular? And what happens when the heads get too close.. they might kiss. There's no kissing in boxing! Maybe there should be. I suppose it might come afterwards. But anyways, you're so funny and i'm glad we're BFF.
ReplyDeletelmaoooo~
ReplyDeletethis post totally cracks me up! and i cant believe you clean (i rarely clean...i get ed to do it) kinda want to see your digital step-by-step tho :D

totally impressed. love the "detail" part. want to see more of this.
ReplyDeletenow i want to see a dvd gnomon tutorial of the works of ben jelter
ReplyDeletehaha, nice. I'm gonna make a step-by-step boxer painting way cooler than any other step by step boxer painting, just watch, it's gonna have explosions and rainbows and everything >:)
ReplyDeleteI think its boxer briefs that were popular but whatever. Your step by step is way more awesome than mine; are you tryin' to start some shit???
ReplyDeleteNice palette, Benjamin. I thought this was a cool piece cuz it's something I've never seen. My room is pretty messy too.
ReplyDeleteInspiring. Thanks for letting people see process of the JELTER. Just don't forget us little people when you hit it big.
ReplyDeleteI had a shitty day... until I saw this. Thank you, for being such an inspiration.
ReplyDeletehahaha the detail of the clean desk made me laugh
ReplyDeleteVery nice step-by-setp, it completely sounds like my work process and makes me feel not so alone in the world of those who must eat sandwiches to keep working. Or clean their room. Usually I manage about 3 or 4 more ways of distracting myself though, like browsing the intertubes.
ReplyDeletecool t'see! really works at the end. clean room works for a clean mind.
ReplyDeleteCould you go over the part where you cleaned your room again? I'm having trouble getting the same result. Also, I don't have any boxer briefs. Is it possible to do this without them? Or should I purchase some?
ReplyDeleteI must clean my room now..:D
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC!!
OOOOOOOOOO!!
ReplyDeleteBOXING! I think this is realllllly great idea! can I borrow your brain for sec?
